Hoodia Appetite Suppressant – Nothing New

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

There has been a lot of talk about diet pills over the past few years.  The reasons for all the discussions are mostly not good.  The symptoms of diet pills made in laboratories are drugs and have many bad side effects.  It could be said diet pills have a bad name.  However, there is a name that is getting really good reviews and it’s not a drug.  The hoodia appetite suppressant is not a pill or a product.  Hoodia is the name of a plant that grows in South Africa and is used by the indigenous San.  The San is a group of people who have lived in that part of the world for thousands and thousands of years.  There really isn’t anyone who knows that region’s animals and plants like the San.  It is the San who have used hoodia for thousands of years as an appetite suppressant.

For a perfect lesson in harmony there is no better example than the San.  This remarkable group of people don’t even have a word for ‘mine’.  Their philosophy is to share everything.  They have no concept of ownership.  Their respect and reverence for nature is more than admirable.  The San intimately understand the local plants and animals.  They know what is good for them and what is not.  Their hunters have been safely using hoodia to control their appetite when they spend days tracking prey.  When they eventually kill the animal they perform a ritual to honor the animal’s life.  Before carrying the meat all the way back to the clan they eat the liver because it is so nutritious.  The hoodia appetite suppressant is not used as a means not to eat at all.

It can be very difficult to come up with a meaningful definition on morbid obesity with no two people being alike. Applying a general definition to a specific situation can be as bad as having no definition at all.

The Global Pandemic Of Obese Children Must Be Addressed Right away

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Lately the childhood obesity epidemic is more and more prominent on the news. Obesity in a child can aggravate the risk for more child health issues like diabetes, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, skeletal disorders, sleep problems, psychological symptoms and gastro-intestinal problems. These abnormalities will in all likelyhood continue into puberty and adulthood. Recent studies have shown that if a child is obese it is extremely likely that adult obesity will follow.

Despite all the above, it is possible for parents to make a positive impact on the lifestyle of their offspring and give them the guidance that will ensure a happy and healthy adulthood.
