Is Water Beneficial For Weight Loss?

I know you have heard about the fat-decaying abilities of water – but there are also other facts advocating why everyone should start drinking 8 or more 8 to 10 oz glasses of water per day.

The most important cause is above mentioned amount of daily water consumption boosts up weight loss in overweight individuals. Water is probably the weight loss rule that is most over-looked and not everyone realizes what it can really do for you – no matter what diet program you are on.

Above all it is cheap, safe and easily obtainable at least in developed countries. It tastes great and is devoid of any side effects. It allows you to save your hard earned money on supplements that aren’t really effective.

There are some people who don’t like the taste or feel that water is tasteless so they don’t drink much of it .But there are other causes – someone likely comes up with a new reason every day.

But I am one skeptic who has seen the real effects.  6 months ago, I could barely walk because of back spasms and knee pain as well as being about 40 lbs overweight.I was suffering from occational breathlessness and distance from my apartment to my car was something that I almost could not do on my legs.  I live in a second story apartment and have a flight of stairs that is really not very long – but I could hardly make it up the stairs and was completely out of breath before I could unlock my front door.So I was almost shut in.

I was prone to high blood pressure and my blood tests were indicating Impared glucose tolerance.I was only 58 which is not very old according to today’s standards. My doctor has warned me several times to work on my weight but my back hurt, I was too tired, and I was unable to breathe. I was suffering from acid reflux disease.

Now I have lost 30 lbs and able to run up and down the stairs.Walking to my car is no problem and my blood pressure is normal.I am no longer provoked by acid reflux. My back only hurts sporadically and when it does concern me, it is not the serious back pain that kept me from walking.  Now, I will admit – I am not running any races or walking any great distances a day, but I have more energy than I have had in years.

It exactly wasn’t so hard to do. I still eat chocolate chip mint ice cream without changing my diet except cutting down my portions.  I have cut out a all candy or snacks and everything in my refrigerator is low fat or no fat.I have also cut my drinking of diet drinks with caffeine just half as these changes are not of a big deal.

Water has become essential part of my daily schedule and I take as much water as I can but I can’t seem to get enough of it.So my belief is that I have definetly suffered from dehydration for years and years and it put my whole body out of order.  Water – just plain water from my water faucet – not ice cold with a lot of  ice cubes – just water, plain, and unflavored water.

So I am living proof – water is good for weight loss as well as a lot of other good health changes and benefits.
